Frequently asked
What do you NOT charge for?
Label cardinality, number of custom metrics, ingested data points, number of dashboards, rules and channels. Only hosts and users are billed.
What counts as a "host"?
One enrolled agent. A server = one host. A 50-node K8s cluster = 50 hosts. Lambda functions count as 1 host per environment (dev/staging/prod), regardless of invocations.
Can I mix self-hosted and managed?
Yes. One cabinet can connect managed regions and your own VMs. Free self-hosted plus paid managed for specific data centers is a common setup.
What happens if I exceed a limit?
Soft cap. You get a cabinet and email notice. If the plan isn’t raised within 7 days, new agents stop enrolling while existing ones keep pushing.
Which payment methods?
Card and bank invoice (Business and up). Annual billing gives two months free.
Discounts for open-source or education?
Yes: 50% off Team and Business for registered open-source projects and educational institutions. Just reach out.
